In this role you will be responsible for developing and driving the current and future network of a range of structural telecommunications and related infrastructure assets as well as co-ordinating with a team of Facilities, Property and Engineering professionals. The position is varied working across a large number of sites and will allow you to be involved with both technical challenges and to develop your Project Management and Co-ordination expertise. You will manage continuous improvement and efficiency programmes focussed on operational structural assets while assisting to build a capital programme in line with planned expansion to the existing network. As a technology provider who love to work smarter an interest in or experience with continuous improvement, lean processes or related methodologies would be beneficial particularly with regard to completing condition assessments, QA audits or similar. Additionally you will promote infrastructure resilience by implementing, developing and maintaining a range of quality systems while collaborating with internal departments on maintenance and testing programmes.
Due to the technical nature of the work along with developed, relevant structural experience you will ideally have registration as a CPEng Structural Engineer with Engineering NZ and current or recent experience working within the AS/NZ market to applicable industry codes and standards. Working on a significant number of sites across a large geographic region, with a range of modern and ageing assets you will be familiar with Asset Management and Risk Management processes, have an understanding of construction contracts such as NZS 3910 or similar and a good understanding of the full project life-cycle.
Your Skills and Experience:
- A tertiary Civil or Structural Engineering qualification
- CPEng Structural registration with Engineering NZ (Preferred)
- 5+ years design based consulting or client side NZ engineering experience (Essential)
- Successful track record of managing structural or related infrastructure assets in NZ within Telecommunications, Power, Energy or a related industry
- Commercially astute with a track record of achieving operational and capital expenditure targets
- Experience with promoting a zero harm environment and ensuring industry best practice Health and Safety compliance
- Ability to work autonomously, be reliable and take ownership of project deliverables
- Unrestricted work rights and a current NZ Drivers License
