The company and position
A leading Auckland based interior fit-out contractor is seeking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong Estimating experience. The company have been operating for 20 years with a strong track record of successful high quality project delivery. This is a senior/lead position, overseeing 3 other quantity surveyors. They have a great culture, modern contemporary offices fitted out to a high standard and a committed, driven and professional team.
The role will be one of leadership, mentoring the team, and advising on best practice for tendering and winning work. This will be done whilst maintaining hands-on estimating and quantity surveying duties on a day-to-day basis.
To be successful in the position, applicants must be highly proficient in quantity surveying and estimating. A demonstrable history of expert tendering and project quantity surveying is essential. Knowledge and experience in interior fit-out will be highly regarded.
The person
The following criteria is essential in order to be considered for this position:
- NEW ZEALAND QS EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a Senior QS position, or a high end intermediate QS with 5-6 years experience looking to step up into a senior position
- A capable, can-do and committed attitude with excellent communication skills
- New Zealand commercial interior fit-out experience
- Strong employment tenures
- Proficient in cost based software
