We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Commissioning Manager to join the team. Position Overview:
The Plant Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the startup and commissioning activities across geothernal power plants. This technical role is responsible for ensuring the readiness of plants for full operation, coordinating commissioning activities, and managing commissioning teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial process facilities and energy systems (ideally geothermal experience), as well as experience in managing complex commissioning projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate commissioning activities, including scheduling and resource management, working closely with construction site managers and client commissioning teams.
- Commissioning Deliverables: Develop and review pre-commissioning documentation, including functional loop check plans, startup manuals, and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures.
- System Readiness: Verify plant readiness for commissioning and completion of construction, ensuring all systems meet operational requirements.
- Commissioning Execution: Manage all phases of commissioning, including cold commissioning, hot commissioning, and SAT execution.
- Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the commissioning team, including subcontractors and third-party service providers, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Training: Develop and execute hands-on training programs for plant operators, ensuring operational proficiency post-commissioning.
- Safety & Quality: Implement and enforce health, safety, environment, and quality protocols as per project requirements.
- Utility Coordination: Coordinate with local utility companies to manage power generation and demand throughout the commissioning, startup, and testing phases.
- Progress Reporting: Provide daily reports on commissioning progress, document any changes during the commissioning period, and highlight any issues that arise.
- Post-Startup Support: Monitor plant performance post-commissioning, providing technical support and troubleshooting as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning or operations of industrial process facilities, preferably within the energy or power generation sector.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of commissioning processes, including functional testing, startup procedures, and systems integration.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and lead multidisciplinary teams in complex project environments.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and other relevant software applications.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly document and report technical information.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in geothermal plant commissioning or industrial process facilities.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
