About the job:
As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating hydrovac trucks to excavate and expose underground utilities using high-pressure water and vacuum systems.
You will work closely with the field team to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest safety standards. This is a hands-on position, requiring strong technical knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to operate specialized equipment safely and efficiently.

Duties:
· Perform routine maintenance and pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
· Operate Hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure.
· Utilize high-pressure water and vacuum systems to remove soil, debris, and other materials.
· Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues with equipment and notify the maintenance team as necessary.
· Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of job sites.
· Follow company safety protocols and regulatory guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
· Right to work in New Zealand
· Must have a NZ Driver’s License
· Hydrovac certification or specialized training.
· Experience working in construction, oil & gas, or utilities industries.
· Previous experience operating Hydrovac trucks or similar equipment (2+ years preferred).
· Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and procedures.
· Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
