The role

In New Zealand, they continue to expand their footprint in the geothermal and renewable energy sectors, playing a pivotal role in shaping the NZ's energy future. They are now seeking a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team, where you will be responsible for managing key financial functions, ensuring compliance, and driving the financial strategy for the operations in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all ledgers and take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual book closings.
  • Review and enter monthly accounting entries to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Perform reconciliations for AP, AR, and financial instruments, including accruals, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and prepaid expenses.
  • Record daily financial transactions to maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and audit requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual tax report and manage tax-related queries.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate with global accounting teams to ensure consistency across regions.
  • Work with multinational engineering and construction teams to support financial operations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and teams across various regions.

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience in accounting/finance, with proven skills in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Oracle (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial/cost accounting standards.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve financial discrepancies.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially in time-sensitive situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with multinational teams.
