To successfully secure a role as a Piping Inspector, it’s recommended to complete a Bachelor of Engineering degree specialising in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Alternatively, significant industry experience may make up for the lack of industry qualifications in this field.

Many Piping Inspectors often take their careers forward by specialising in pipe design and become a Piping Designer. With further training, they can then move towards other areas of Engineering Design, such as a CAD Designer. Alternatively, they can also move into other areas of engineering, such as Mechanical or Civil.
