For that reason, New Zealand employers look for candidates who possess either a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, specialising in Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering.

Environmental Engineers can progress their careers by moving into managerial roles and even work their way up to executive-level in an Engineering firm. They can also become self-employed contractors. Alternatively, Engineers can continue to specialist in other areas such as Project Management, Construction Management, Health and Safety, Planning, Estimation and Environmental Science.
Entry: 55-65K per annum (NZD)
Intermediate: 80-100K per annum
Senior: 110-150K per annum
