Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage large construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and implement project strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize project performance.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand building regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide leadership to project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Resolve project-related issues and provide expert guidance on technical challenges.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience (10+ years) in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction laws, health & safety standards, and building codes.
- Experience in managing large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or civil construction projects.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and project costs effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
- Relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
