Mining Engineers design, develop, and oversee mining operations to ensure the efficient and safe extraction of minerals. They collaborate with geologists and site managers to create mine plans, manage project feasibility studies, and optimise extraction techniques to maximise output while minimising environmental impact. They also ensure compliance with Australian mining regulations and safety standards.
Required Skills:
A degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is required, along with strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise in mine design software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan), and experience in open-pit or underground mining operations. Strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to work under high-pressure environments are essential.
