We are seeking skilled and qualified Line Mechanics to join leading companies across New Zealand’s energy and infrastructure sectors. As a Line Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines to ensure reliable electricity distribution. Key Responsibilities:



  • Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) power lines
  • Perform overhead and underground line work, including pole replacements and cable installations
  • Conduct inspections and fault-finding on power distribution networks
  • Work on live-line and de-energized systems following industry safety standards
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment, such as bucket trucks and tensioning devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, maps, and work orders
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, engineers, and project managers to complete projects on time


Required Skills & Experience:


  • Qualification in Electrical Line Mechanics (e.g., New Zealand EWRB Registration or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in overhead and/or underground power distribution
  • Live Line Work certification (preferred but not essential)
  • Full Class 1 driver’s license (Class 2 or higher preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions and at heights
