Geologists are responsible for identifying, analysing, and mapping mineral resources within a mining operation. They assess ore body quality through fieldwork, core sample analysis, and geological surveys. Their findings help determine the feasibility of mining projects and optimise extraction techniques. Geologists also play a key role in ensuring environmental sustainability by studying geological formations and recommending safe mining practices.

Required Skills:

A degree in Geology or Earth Sciences is essential. Experience in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and geospatial analysis is highly valued. Proficiency in GIS and mining software such as Micromine or Leapfrog is an advantage. Strong fieldwork experience, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex geological data are also critical.
