We are seeking skilled Generator Operators to join our clients in New Zealand’s energy and power industry. As a Generator Operator, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting power generators across various sites. This role is critical in ensuring a steady and reliable power supply, whether for industrial projects, backup power systems, or remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor power generation equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators and associated systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose generator faults, making necessary adjustments or repairs
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Conduct fuel and fluid checks, replacing filters and performing necessary servicing
• Work with engineers, electricians, and technicians to maintain power systems
• Record operational data and report any performance issues
• Respond to power outages and emergencies efficiently
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new generator units

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Generator Operator, Power Plant Technician, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gas-powered generators
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with preventive maintenance procedures
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including remote or industrial sites
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards
