To become a Planner, most New Zealand employers will expect you to have a Degree in Planning or Resource Management. A postgraduate qualification of the same nature can help you secure more senior-level Planning positions.
Typical Responsibilities
Progression
Planners who wish to progress their careers further in Planning and Resource Management, can apply to New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) for membership to improve their chances of securing a job as an Intermediate Planner, and then a Senior Planner role later. After that, Planners can continue their careers and specialise further in Town, Urban or Recreational Planning, or even Policy Administration.
There may not be current roles available but we are always looking to connect with new talent and will be able to help you on your journey to finding your next role. Please upload an expression of interest and your CV so we can start this partnership.
