Mine Surveyors measure and map the terrain of a mining site to assist with excavation planning and resource management. They use GPS, drones, and laser scanning technology to collect data for accurate mine designs. Surveyors ensure compliance with site plans, monitor excavation progress, and provide critical spatial information to engineers and geologists.
Required Skills:
A degree or diploma in Surveying is required. Experience with GPS, total stations, and software such as AutoCAD or Maptek is essential. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in remote areas are also necessary.
