Are you a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a passion for shaping the future of land development, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects? We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join an Auckland-based team in a client-facing role, offering you the chance to lead a diverse range of geotechnical projects from investigation through to construction. The successful applicant will be offered a salary of $140 K - $160 K + benefits dependant on experience.
About the Role: This position provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to manage and oversee projects across land development, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors. You'll work on projects from the ground up, providing technical expertise, managing client relationships, and ensuring the highest standards in geotechnical investigations, design, and reporting.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the technical aspects of geotechnical projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Managing a portfolio of projects, including site investigations, geotechnical design, and construction support.
- Acting as the main point of contact with clients, developing long-term relationships.
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Contributing to business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting the growth of the team.
- Assisting in the strategic direction of the geotechnical discipline within the company.
About You: You will be a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer with the following qualifications and experience:
- A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- 5+ years of NZ based consultancy experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards assessment.
- Strong experience in managing ground investigations and characterizing sites.
- Expertise in geotechnical design and a solid understanding of engineering risk.
- Proven project management experience
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, willing to think outside the box.
- A passion for ongoing professional development and mentoring developing engineers
