This civil contractor is in growth mode and are winning new projects, hence their need to expand. They are seeking a Project Engineer to work on their new subdivision projects. If your expertise includes bulk earthworks - jobs 10,000m3 up to 400,000m3, then this is your new role.

This client has a strong pipeline, and private developer connections and is building many subdivisions across Auckland.

They have the most up-to-date technology and plant, to keep things moving quickly, and to keep projects running on time and on budget.

Alongside just being a ‘no nonsense’ kind of person, the key accountabilities of the position include:

  • Engage and manage Subcontractors and Suppliers.
  • Liaise with Supervisors in managing material ordering.
  • Provide reporting on project progress.
  • Liaise with Contracts Managers to ensure all variations are obtained.
  • Obtain Quality sign-offs as per the Contract Specifications.
  • Ensure sufficient survey set out through engaging external survey providers.
  • Ensure records are up to date.
  • Ensure Quality testing is complete and Environmental compliance is followed on all projects.
  • Forecast cost and investigate alternative cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure work packages are closed out productively following the completion of works.
  • Uphold high standards for all matters relating to safety.

About you:

  • You hold a New Zealand Citizenship or Residency or are currently in NZ with a right to work.
  • You might hold qualifications from the civil industry and you WILL have sufficient boots-on-the-ground experience.
  • You have worked alongside New Zealand field crews.
  • You will have 5+ years of experience on civil major earthworks / land development projects.
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of people building and developing strong relationships.
