My client is a global leader at the heart of innovation within raw material manufacturing. They are committed to delivering innovative, environmentally sustainable products with manufacturing operations based locally in the Hawke's Bay. A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Reliability Engineer with a strong background working with large, industrial scale, fixed plant. You will be well versed with identifying strategic and reliability focused improvement opportunities across maintenance, reliability and capital works.

Reporting to Engineering Manager, and as an integral part of a wider organisational division, the purpose of this role is to increase plant reliability, oversee reliability improvement projects, and assist to develop long term reliability strategies for widely used plant. You will assist with the implementation of maintenance work and shuts with occasional input around the design, procurement and delivery of capital works for engineering projects. With extensive experience in strategically delivering predictive and preventative engineering in a heavy industrial, fixed plant, manufacturing environment, you will have proven relationship building skills, complemented by well developed, interpersonal and influencing abilities.

The Role:

  • Be responsible for continuous monitoring and analysis of equipment performance
  • Develop and implement improvements to systems and equipment to gain better reliability
  • Assist in developing and improving maintenance practices to optimise plant performance and reduce maintenance costs
  • Develop and implement equipment life cycle management procedures
  • Integrate job planning and resourcing with internal Engineering and Production staff
  • Scope maintenance and capital work for completion by contractors
  • Ensure quality, productivity and adherence schedules are maintained
  • Perform root cause analysis to ensure maintenance reliability issues resolved
  • Take a medium to long term strategic approach for reliability engineering activities

Your Skills:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 5-10 years experience working within a large industrial, MHF, manufacturing environment
  • Proven expertise in Reliability Engineering with Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional accreditation (CMRP) preferred
  • Be a strong communicator and effective influencer with excellent people skills
  • Have strong operational and maintenance knowledge
  • Sound leadership with the ability to motivate and problem solve
  • Unrestricted work rights for NZ, in country or with imminent arrival
